Why use an End Grain Cutting Board

I am constantly asked why I am so passionate about end grain cutting boards and if there is really a difference....well, here I go......

  • End grain cutting boards self repair so that food and bacteria do not get into the wood (definitely safer and more hygienic than regular cutting boards)
  • End grain cutting boards are much nicer to knifes...nothing dulls a knife faster than a regular cutting board
  • Easy to maintain - just wipe down with a bit of mineral oil when you see the board getting a bit dried out (usually 1-2 months) 
  • A piece of art and showstopper conversation piece - trust me, will put your hostess skills to the next level
